ANJEER

The drug Anjeer consists of dried fleshy receptacles/ fruits of Ficus carica L. (Moraceae). The tree is a native of Asia Minor and cultivated in many parts of the Northern India, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra. Receptacles occur during January to April and ripe fruits (figs) from June to October.

  • Action(s): Attenuant (Mulattif), Resolvent of swelling/Anti-inflammatory (Mohallil-e-Waram), Concoctive (Munzij), Laxative (Mulaiyin)

  • Theraputic Use(s): Inflammation of Spleen(Waram-e-Tehal), Epilepsy(Sara), Bronchial asthma(Zeeq-un-Nafas)

  • Dose: Anjeer (Dry) 10-12 number
