AFSANTEEN

The drug Afsanteen consists of dried stem pieces of Artemisia absinthium L. (Asteraceace); the plant is found in Kashmir upto 2500 m Nepal and mountanious districts of India. It is a perennial plant and occurs throughout the year. Flowering and fruiting takes place from July to September.
Temperament: Hot, Dry 3̊
Action(s): Diuretic (Mudirr-e-Baul), Antipyretic (Dafi-e-Humma), Vermicide (Qatil-e- Kirm-e-Shikam), Deobstruent (Mufatteh-e-Sudad), Stomachic (Muqawwi-e-Meda), Resolvent of swelling/Anti-inflammatory (Mohallil-e-Waram)
Theraputic Use(s): Worm infestation(Deedan-e-Ama), Inflammation of Liver(Waram-e-Kabid), Inflammation of Spleen(Waram-e-Tehal), Weakness of brain (Zof-e-Dimagh),Epilepsy (Sara),Fever(Humma), Tremor(Rasha), Hemiplegia(Falij), Facial palsy(Laqwa), Atony(Istirkha), Pile/Haemorrhoid(Bawaseer)
Dose: 4 to 9 g.
