The drug Baobarang consists of dried mature fruits of Embelia ribes Burm.f. (Myrsinanceae); a drug yielding plant is a large scandent shrub with long slender, flexible branches; distributed throughout hilly parts of India upto 1600 m.
Temperament: Hot & Dry 20
Action(s): Vermicide (Qatil-e-Deedan-e-Ama), Purgative (Mushil)
Theraputic Use(s): Worm infestation (Deedan-e-Ama), Polyarthritis(Waja-ul-Mafasil)
Dose: 1 to 2 g.
